• There is not a monthly fee for the chromecast itself as it is designed to just play whatever media you pull up on your phone or tablet on your tv. However, many of the popular media apps on your phone (netflix,hulu,etc.) that support chromecast capabilities do have their own monthly fees for their services.

• no monthly fee, but if you need more channels like netflix hulu, you have to buy subscription , great with youtube (free) so good all in all
