The sticky on the floaty is to attach to the wTerproof case for camera, not a board. You will need a different adapter for that. And be sure to test it in shallow water before you go out. The floaty is made to float the camera only.

The surfboard mount does have a peel away adhesive to mount on the board as well as an anchor adhesive with a string tether Just in case your surfboard mount fails. If both fail then the floaty back door just saved you from diving to search the ocean floor for your go pro.

You would need a adhesive mount to mount your case to your surfboard (your original go pro camera should have come with a couple of those). This would come in handy if the case happened to get loose from the mount.
