“Black box style recording? Can this camera be configured to keep recording indefinitely and drop everything older than - say - an hour? (Similar to black box in an aircraft) Or will it always keep recording until the memory is full and then stop?”

• It will stop. For that I would get a dash cam.

• Once memory is full this camera quits. Better to use a hard drive style camera for good results and a power supply. I use Cannon and Panasonic then when memory is full it will move to the 64Gig card
