The recording to can be slowed to 50% for a rate of 30 fps. For anything slower than that, you will need to use an outside editing program.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The new HERO can record at 60 frames per second, so you could slow the recording down by 50% and still have a smooth 30 fps video. To do slow motion, you will want to use an editing program on your computer like iMovie or VSDC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Both of the previous answers state that 50% slowmo in an editing software will yield 30 fps. This is not correct. It always plays back at 30fps but if footage is recorded at 60 fps and slowed 50% it yields 120 fps. Played back at the standard TV rate of 30 fps, this yields slowmo that is 1/4 real-time. However, most action content will still be a bit jittery when slowed down by software rather than recorded at a higher frame rate. Still usable, just not quite as smooth.
