- Answer Recording time is determined by a number of factors, including the resolution and frame rate you select, and the size of the SD card you use. If you're operating off battery power, you should get about an hour and ten minutes at the higher resolutions and frame rates and as much as two and a half hours at lower resolutions and frame rates. However, you can use external power with the HERO13 Black, which would mean your recording time would only be limited by the size of the SD card you use.
