• No it can't be motion activated. But gopro makes its own remote so with the push of a button from far away you can activate it.

• Think about your question. This is an Action gadget (pricy) not a stationary gadget (cheaper). If you put it on your head or body etc with motion detection it would always be on, L0L If you put it on your board, bike or car etc and only wanted to film while in motion then you would want to preserve your battery and turn it off when not in motion. From your question I think you may be looking for a Dropcam (Nest) _
