I have 3 of these ranging from Dec 2014 to March 2016. My son has one from May 2015, and none of ours have this issue you speak of. No clue what is the cause.

All four were returned back to the stores they came from due to the audio issue. I give up! GoPro has people complaining about this for over a year and it's still an issue. I called GoPro directly and ask if I could buy one from them without the issue, was told by their customer service it is hit or miss. One would think they would have fixed this and could tell you from serial number xxxx and on is good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought mine on 3/4/16 and had the helicopter noise issue. Either this issue was never fixed by the company or Best Buy's stock is very old. I returned my unit back to bestbuy and will wait for the Hero5, hopefully coming at the end of the year.
