Picture quality wise its amazing, two limitations though, no zoom and if in the water proof housing, audio is extremely limited.

If you plan on action at night, chances are there is not enough light to take good video. In the day light, the video will be awesome.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You "could" shoot the video from the sidelines, but then you'd have to edit all your video to zoom in on the action and the quality would be degraded. For shooting football games, best is to use a traditional Digital Video Camera.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In my experience the go pros are really for the first person point of view or very close third person. It has a slight fisheye/wide angle lens which makes things appear farther away.
