Yeah, I agree it should come with one. They sell one of course... but it does not come standard for obvious fiscal reasons. I know it will work with most phone charger bases but the manual is very clear that it is not recommended. I don't have the money to throw around replacing the camera just to take the chance.

This is pretty standard for a lot of things in the last few years. The (assumed) reason behind it is that since most usb wall plugs that can detach the cable are universal. Most households have tons of them from various purchases for other items. Therefore, by not having one it the box it cuts the cost down on the average selling price by approximately $20 on average. Then the consumer can decide if they want to buy one. Which in my opinion is great since I don't want to pay extra for a brand specific part that I can buy for anywhere from $1 and up.
