“I want to use the GoPro for recording wildlife adventures, but I am concerned that when I decide to record it will be loud and scare off any wildlife. When recording is it loud? When starting the recording, does it beep loudly? Can that be turned off?”

Yes, the start and stop record beeps can be turned off on GoPros including the Hero 5 where there is no sound. A red light would be the record indicator. Hope this helps. Good luck.

FoxPro cameras are actually not ideal for wildlife photography unless you are VERY close. A deer or elk even as close as 20 yards appear to be much further away.

It's very quiet.. in fact I don't hear any noise come from it at all.

It beeps until you change the settings and then it's as quiet as a pebble that isn't moving.
