It's to help keep it competitive to Nikon's entry into the action camera category. Nikons optics will be better than Go Pro's, and the quality and performance will be better. Now that people will have a viable option to Go Pro in this category, their pathetic customer support and service will have to step it up and actually stand behind the quality of their camera. Nikon has always been at the fore-front of photography, and their customer service is outstanding. Make sure you check out the Nikon action cameras before buying what will most likely be reduced to being used as a paper weight in a year, like my Go Pro cameras.
