• The HERO8 Black is waterproof on its own down to 33 feet. If you plan to go deeper than that, you will want to use the separate protective housing with the camera.

• yes it is. you don’t need the case it is fully waterproof up to a certain depth. now if you want to extend that then yes get the case.
