- Answer Some of the new features launched with the HERO8 include an improved stabilization process called HyperSmooth 2.0, an improved stabilized time lapse option that allows you to toggle a single shot in and out of real time to time lapse, and built-in mounting fingers that mean you don't need an extra Frame to mount the GoPro. The HERO8 is also compatible with our upcoming Mods, which will allow you to add on a microphone, a light, and an additional display screen.

QuestionHow long does the battery last

- Answer The battery is horrendous. The camera can record in 4K in 60fps but never even tried it because just recording 1080p at 60fps only lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. Horrendous horrendous battery life not to mention how hot it gets, I can just imagine in 4K at 60fps only lasting about 10 minutes not to mention how most likely will overheat and turn off automatically

- Answer This GoPro is waterproof down to 33 feet without the need for an additional housing, so the HERO8 Black does not come with a separate underwater case. If you plan to take the HERO8 Black deeper than 33 feet, there is a separate protective housing available.

- Answer If you're charging the battery in the camera or using GoPro's Dual Battery Charger, the charging automatically stops when the battery is fully charged.

- Answer Yes, the HERO8 Black can be powered externally by connecting a power supply to the GoPro using the USB-C port. You'll want to make sure the power supply can provide power at 5v 1-2A. Most USB power plugs like an iPhone power plug will work great. And yes, GoPro cameras use chaptering to break long recordings into shorter files. You can then join the files together into a single clip when you edit the clips.

QuestionWill this camera connect to PC and serve as a webcam as well? Don't see such a connection under 'connectivity'.

- Answer It does not. There are 3rd party "tricks" for getting it to work as a webcam but it is clunky and requires you to download software onto your PC from less reputable sources. The "livestream" feature works through social media platforms and actually has about a full minute of delay. I wanted this camera for teaching class live but it did not work.

- Answer The hero 8 is not the newest GoPro but is one of the best and doesn’t suffer the overheating issues that the 9 and 10 and 11 have been having. It does some zoom capabilities and the colors are really good

- Answer The videos you shoot on a GoPro camera are saved as standard mp4 format video files, so they can be edited, saved, stored, etc. just like nearly any other video files. There are a number of software programs available here on this site that you can buy and use to create a DVD from your video files. Note that you will also need a DVD burner drive connected to your computer. If you don't have that drive or aren't sure how to do it, several drugstore chains and large retail stores offer a DVD creation service as well. They can take the videos directly from your SD memory card and make a DVD for you.

- Answer The battery is removable, and when the HERO8 Black is used with the new Media Mod (coming soon), you will be able to output through an HDMI connection.

- Answer So, I’ve never seen this done, but depending on what you’re using for editing it should be fairly simple to cut the audio from the file. However, mixing in some audio gives a sense of realism to your videos which draw in a crowd/audience even more.

- Answer The HERO8 Black is waterproof on its own down to 33 feet. If you plan to go deeper than that, you will want to use the separate protective housing with the camera.

- Answer The HERO8 Black comes with an adhesive mount and the standard GoPro mounting buckle. If you want to wear it like a body camera, you can use the mounting buckle to connect the GoPro to a variety of mounts. Many people like to use the Chesty, the Magnetic Swivel Clip mount, or the Head Strap + QuickClip for this type of situation.
