QuestionHow long does the battery last

- Answer The battery is horrendous. The camera can record in 4K in 60fps but never even tried it because just recording 1080p at 60fps only lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. Horrendous horrendous battery life not to mention how hot it gets, I can just imagine in 4K at 60fps only lasting about 10 minutes not to mention how most likely will overheat and turn off automatically

- Answer The hero 8 is not the newest GoPro but is one of the best and doesn’t suffer the overheating issues that the 9 and 10 and 11 have been having. It does some zoom capabilities and the colors are really good

QuestionIs there a way video can be put onto a dvd ?

- Answer The videos you shoot on a GoPro camera are saved as standard mp4 format video files, so they can be edited, saved, stored, etc. just like nearly any other video files. There are a number of software programs available here on this site that you can buy and use to create a DVD from your video files. Note that you will also need a DVD burner drive connected to your computer. If you don't have that drive or aren't sure how to do it, several drugstore chains and large retail stores offer a DVD creation service as well. They can take the videos directly from your SD memory card and make a DVD for you.

- Answer So, I’ve never seen this done, but depending on what you’re using for editing it should be fairly simple to cut the audio from the file. However, mixing in some audio gives a sense of realism to your videos which draw in a crowd/audience even more.

- Answer The HERO8 Black does have the option to use looping. Most newer GoPro cameras have looping functions.

Questionyou don't need the clear protective housing case with this model to go in the ocean underwater? You can use as is and its completely waterproof?

- Answer The HERO8 Black is waterproof on its own down to 33 feet. If you plan to go deeper than that, you will want to use the separate protective housing with the camera.

- Answer The HERO8 Black comes with an adhesive mount and the standard GoPro mounting buckle. If you want to wear it like a body camera, you can use the mounting buckle to connect the GoPro to a variety of mounts. Many people like to use the Chesty, the Magnetic Swivel Clip mount, or the Head Strap + QuickClip for this type of situation.

- Answer The HERO8 Black can be powered by external power supplies as long as the output from those supplies are 5V/1-2A outputs.

- Answer There is not an external mic input on the camera itself, but there are accessories like the Media Mod or the GoPro Pro Mic Adapter, that you can connect to the HERO8 Black that will allow for this.

- Answer Yes, the HERO8 has a linear FOV option. In 16:9, the Linear view has a diagonal FOV of 93.7º with the image stabilization off, and 95.5º with it on.

- Answer So most of my footage for recording soccer lasted me about half a game which is equivalent to about 40-55 mins. I would definitely look into more batteries or a portable go pro charging case. To answer your question though, through my own personal experience “no”.

- Answer Got it. Thanks for the follow-up. GoPro does not currently offer a desktop editor for the HERO models. However, GoPro videos are captured as standard MP4 files, so you can use them with almost every major editing program. On a Mac, an app like iMovie is a great option to use with your GoPro content.
