• Buy the waterproof case. We bought this GoPro to take on vacation and it malfunctioned on the very first day of using it.

• Yes, the HERO9 Black is waterproof on its own down to 33 feet. If you plan to go deeper than that, there is a protective housing sold separately for the HERO9 Black that you can use.
