• I don't know what the difference may be but I purchased this as a backup for my GoPro 7 Black and it works perfectly. Hope this helps.

• The newer HERO8 Black battery (with the blue bottom) is designed to power all of the features found in the HERO8 Black. The HERO8 Black battery will also work with previous, newer GoPro cameras.
