• Yes, they both use lightning device connection to usb. The tablets charge @ 10w your phone @ 5w. It won't harm the phone at all.

• Yes, the only thing that you need to change is the adapter that plugs into the wall. That is where the current is amplified for charging an Ipad vs iPhone, but the USB cords are universal with Apple products as long as your end piece is compatible with both products.
