The software includes 5 free federal e-files. It doesn't matter who it's for. You can pay for more e-files or mail it in for no charge (other than the cost of stamps).

I made the mistake of doing my sister’s taxes as the 6th one planned with the software and didn’t use the free e-file (filed hers as the third one out of 6 while doing my retired parents) as I had her pay the filing fee, however when I got to doing my son’s taxes as the last one and I had already used the e-file option for my sister and couldn’t file his as the software limits you to 5 e-files. Therefore, submit via paper if doing more than 5 family members.
