QuestionDoes it force you to create an account? Can I import turbotax to this? Turbotax requires an account as of this year, so as of this year I will never buy turbotax..I just want to file my taxes. Thanks

- Answer No, it does not force you to create account. You can run it stand alone on your PC or tablet. I used Turbotax for over 20 years but left them three years ago for H&R software due to new requirements that Turbotax had.

QuestionWill the deluxe version handle credits for purchases of green improvements such as electrical upgrades or minisplit installation?

- Answer I'm taking a credit for minisplit install this year and use H&R Block, I am 99% certain that the software will accomodate for this, from my google searches H&R has many internet posts regarding various energy credits and credit amounts, so I can't see where they would omit this from the software.

QuestionI want to buy this and use it for between 2 and 5 "free E-Filings." But my family does not want to have to do (and save) their work on a single PC. If we use this for multiple E-Filings, can we download the software onto 3 different PC's from the site?

QuestionWhat exactly comes in the 2023 packaging? Last year (2022) the downloadable software was a flat card with a scratch off activation code and a website to enter printed on the back of the card.

- Answer I had some confusion about the activation code which the instructions lead me to believe the code would be mailed to me. After talking to a H&R person I was told use what is in the instructions I received in email.

- Answer Yes, but you'll need the internet for software updates prior filing your taxes. The next update is April 22nd. Filing without getting the updates could be a problem if the areas changed or updated affect your taxes. I'm in Texas as well, so you need the version without the state taxes, just Federal. Don't file without getting the updates.

Question2 questions for 2023 tax year 1) I sold shares in a single Mutual Fund at a loss. Seems simple enough, but some Mktng info says Deluxe won’t handle stock sale…that Premium is needed. What will Premium do that deluxe won’t in this example?
