Questionwhat is the operating temperature range for best efficiency?

- Answer Hello noname - Do not install your freezer in any location not properly insulated or heated, e.g. garage, attic, etc. Your freezer was not designed to operate in temperature settings below 55° Fahrenheit. Your freezer will automatically maintain the temperature level you select. The temperature control dial has 7 settings, plus OFF. "1" is the warmest, "7" is the coldest, and turning the temperature dial to OFF shuts down the compressor. Set the dial to "4" and allow 24 hours to pass before adjusting the temperature to your needs. The ideal freezer temperature is 0 degrees F (-18 Celsius) for storing food and -10 degrees F (-23 Celsius) for freezing food. For every five degrees F above zero, the recommended storage time is cut in half. Food stored above 0 Fahrenheit loses more nutrients and loses quality faster than properly frozen food. The faster that food freezes, the smaller the ice crystals will be. Smaller ice crystals do not change the food's texture or quality when food is thawed. - TREY@HAIER

- Answer Hello Laylow - At the bottom right corner inside the freezer interior is a step to accommodate the compressor hardware, the interior dimensions and compressor step dimensions are below. Interior Dimensions: Length: 29.25"; Width: 26.25"; Height: 16.62". Compressor dimensions: Length: 29.25"; Width: 9.5"; Height: 8.5". - TREY@HAIER

QuestionWill this unit freeze to -20c specifically? I see 0 is -18 c., but in need to be at -20 c if not this unit do you have perhaps another model or a commercial unit that can be set to that -20 c.?

- Answer Full disclosure, I’m a Fahrenheit guy and not Celsius. That said, the unit has seven (7) cooling settings. The higher the number the colder the setting. The user manual says setting 4, provides cooling to -18C (zero F). I have the freezer set at setting six (6) and that seems to keep the temperature well below zero Fahrenheit. I have not measured the actual temp but I would say it had to be close to -20F (-29C). Of course, if you let frost to build up in the inside of the freezer will result in poor performance of the freezer. It’s up to the user to keep the unit in good condition.
