Absolutely, I do it all the time. You can turn the heat off and allow the timer to run to the end. The timer is spring activated so you should never try to turn it off, just let it run to off. There are three manually controlled dials on this toaster oven: temperature is the top dial, timer is the bottom dial and toast, bake, broil, warm, etc. is the middle dial. I've only used toast and broil and they both work very well; you need to experiment with the correct temperature for toast or you will burn your bread pretty quickly, which I have done. It's better not to leave the oven unattended when toasting to avoid burns and a lot of smoke. I've set off the smoke alarm twice.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would just turn the knob to OFF and keep the oven door open. I was a little disappointed, because the tray doesn't slide out when opening the door.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes, There is no on off switch. There is three ways too turn off: 1. You have to set temp, if temp set to zero oven does not turn on,so if you turn it back to zero oven turns off. But timer still ticks tell it hits zero. 2.Set time on timer turns on oven, after you set temp, if timer on zero oven off. 3. unplug oven when not in use, make sure timer is at zero. This can be done by turning timer to zero.
