A:Answer Absolutely, I do it all the time. You can turn the heat off and allow the timer to run to the end. The timer is spring activated so you should never try to turn it off, just let it run to off. There are three manually controlled dials on this toaster oven: temperature is the top dial, timer is the bottom dial and toast, bake, broil,warm, etc. is the middle dial.
I've only used toast and broil and they both work very well; you need to experiment with the correct temperature for toast or you will burn your bread pretty quickly, which I have done. It's better not to leave the oven unattended when toasting to avoid burns and a lot of smoke. I've set off the smoke alarm twice.
