This device requires an antenna to receive channels being broadcast in your local area. The antenna connects directly to the HDHomerun. Then, you connect the device to your network via Ethernet. Once it is connected to your network, you can use various apps (HDHomerun App, Plex, Channels, etc) on your PC or Streaming device to tune the channels and watch.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It operates regardless of who your provider is (I'm also on Comcast, but was previously on fiber and Verizon before that). The Channels app in the App Store I think is still $25, but is worth the money, and works exactly the same as the HDHomeRun app that works on Mac/PC/Android - allows you to hide/show channels in the guide, and can update the firmware on the tuner as well. It's what I'm using on the AppleTV and it's been great
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on your location I would recommend an external antenna with a amplifier to be the best signal for the tuner in the HD Homerun then the streaming will be much clearer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this device plus an antenna should get you all the local channels for live TV. If you want to get an all-in-one DVR, you could also look at the HDHomeRun SCRIBE DUO, sold exclusively at Best Buy. For devices that are supported, see https://www.silicondust.com/live-tv/#devices
