A coaxial cable is just a cable. It will not provide content on its own. If you are asking about a coax from a cable tv provider, it depends on whether your provider supports ClearQAM. If they do, then we support that. If they don't, it won't work. Then you will need an antenna.

Depends on the box. HDHomerun has a cable service provider version. The Quattro/Duo are Over The Air (OTA) type devices and require an Antenna to operate.
