• A coaxial cable is just a cable. It will not provide content on its own. If you are asking about a coax from a cable tv provider, it depends on whether your provider supports ClearQAM. If they do, then we support that. If they don't, it won't work. Then you will need an antenna.

• Coax cable is the wire type.. and is used for everything RF like cable TV and OTA service. Did you mean Cable TV service like Comcast? Depends on the box. HDHomerun has a cable service provider version. The Quattro/Duo are Over The Air (OTA) type devices and require an Antenna to operate.

• NO. You MUST use an external HD style antenna. It will not work with ANY cable company cable supply.
