That OK...All you need is a router and a computer. Hook-up the HD home run to a router or switch on you home network, plug the antenna and a network cable to use. Install the software from the website. Install the drivers, go through the prompts to scan your channels from you HD Antenna. The software has a interface you can watch live tv from you computer. I have it going through my Windows Media Center on my big screen tv. I can use the DVR feature without paying for the one the default software has $35 a year if you choose to go that way. Good Luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would connect your HD antenna to this and it acts like a cable box/DVR for OTA channels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With the current hardware, you can do even less than described. Say you want to watch TV on your tablet. Attach the antenna to the HDHomeRun. Attach the network cable to it. And then plug it in. Then go to whatever your app store is and download the HDHomeRun app. While that's happening, your HDHomeRun will actually set itself up without your help. Then just open the app. Done, and you're watching live TV directly on your tablet. If you want a DVR, see some other answers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.O.K. So I too have been wanting to "cut the cord". Looked into everything out there and came across this. I bought the 4 tuner DVR and paid for the service but it won't configure AND there is NO CONFIGURATION MENU OR SETTINGS! I've reached out to Silicon Dust umpteen times with a few lame email response but no one will call me back. THE absolute worst! I have found that companies that don't have any type of "live" customer support I tend to not do business with them. And the other problem is I can't return this to Best Buy. NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS! I've tried to give this Zero stars but I can't give it that low of a rating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can view it on you laptop/ computer if you want. As long as the HD Home Run is connected to you network (router or switch) you can see it in My Network on a Windows PC then "Yes" you can have a way to watch tv with the software that is downloaded from the company website.
