The biggest difference is the number of LED zones. Turning off certain zones makes blacks black. Mimicking OLED to a degree. More zones means more fine tuning from scene to scene. Less bleed through too. There may be other differences but that's the main one to me.

This model has a peak brightness of 1500 nits and 1620 local dimming zones. 65U8N has a higher peak brightness (3000 nits) and fewer local dimming zones (1600 zones).
