“It is annoying that when I press "Input," inputs are shown that have nothing connected to them. Is there a way to show only those inputs the TV is using?”

• Weird. My H8C only shows inputs that are actively plugged in as far as what it lets me select.

• I don't believe so, but it specifically shows the Inputs WITH connections first, and highlights them so that you know which Inputs have what connections. I guess you could try to go into the rename inputs in the settings and see if you can just disable them, but I don't remember seeing that as an option. I don't see how this could be a problem but to each his own I guess.
