“Probably a dumb question, at checkout it shows I may need to purchase a Rocketfish 8' 4k ultra hd/hdr in wall rated hdmi cable. I am not tech savvy, so I am confused as to why I would need it. The tv will not be wall mounted. Please un- confuse me. thanks”

Dont buy the hdmi cable. Most hdmi cable can send and receive 4k signals.
