“For programming purposes, we are bound to cable, do little streaming and no gaming. Our provider (Spectrum) supplies us a 1080i signal out of the box. Anyone had any good luck with this set and a cable box?”

This set handles up to 4k, but little is available in 4K. It will display clearly the signal presented. To answer you: this set will give you one of the very best pictures available using any source. I stream Netflix, Disney + Apple + Prime Video, Peacock, am DirecTV connected, and use Blu-ray player to play both DVD and Blu-ray Discs.
