“Just got off the phone with customer support that told me that TV only supports FAT32 format. Is that right? It would be extremely weird to see new TVs without exFat support? FAT32 isn't supported by MacOS and has file size limitation of 4GB!”

Hello Boris, Thank you for purchasing a Hisense 65H8G. Yes you can only use USB storage devices with file systems provided by Windows/ android, regrettably MacOS isn't supported.
