“No bluetooth? I can't connect my phone to the tv? I also read about the 480p upscaling issue. Does that only apply to dvd content? Turner Classic broadcasts in HD on Directv and all that content was originally in 480p, will it strecth that out as well?”

Ive mirrored my phone screen to the tv to watch some downloaded shows. There is a roku app to cast content to the tv as well. Idk about bluetooth. You will be fine as your direct tv will be telling the tv its a 1080p picture. It will display normally.
