As far as communication with other equipment, i found if you turn off "cec" on the other devices, it should alleviate your issue. Good luck. This info is from my Denon AVR: CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) also called HDMI Control, is a feature on most AVRs that allows for one button control of supported system functions. This feature may also be available on other CEC supported devices such as TVs or projectors. CEC can control power on/off functions, volume control and source switching by sending a command over the connected HDMI cables.

I am giving it back under warranty. I have long since grown weary of they way this thing turns every freaking device on unless and worse. I have asked Hisense here for help but NOooooOOoooooooo!!!!!
