QuestionWhat is the difference between this unit and the Hisense U8H?

- Answer The Brightness is rated for 1500 Nits on the U8K. The U8H is sub-1000 Nits. That's the biggest difference. And much better speakers on the U8K, if that matters to you.

Questionwhen it indicates Google tv, what does that mean?

- Answer It’s more integrated to the google ecosystem….you can setup the tv easier with a google account. You are in no way whatsoever forced to have it or forced to have said account to get the tv up and running, it just makes it more convenient. Another way it is integrated with google is the voice command.

Questionis the Atsc 3.0 tuner backward compatible on this set. we only have one channel transmitting 3.0 at this time.

- Answer I have no problem in getting local OTA channel in LA area. In fact, I get more channels than I had with my old LG TV.

QuestionTwo questions: I heard the U8K drops the HDMI signal, especially when using an HDMI splitter. Has this been a problem for anyone? I use an HDMI splitter to hook up multiple gane consoles. Also, have people run into dirty screen effect with the U8K?

- Answer I am unable to answer the 1st question but yes unfortunately this tv does have dirty screen effect. It has definite vertical bands that can be seen in dark scenes.

QuestionMy TV has a horrid "mosaic" affect on deep blacks that cannot be adjusted away. Also, this new TV "communicates" with my Denon AVR and turns on the AVR and starts turning on media players like Blu Ray and UHD Disc players. I hate this!!! HELP!!!!!

- Answer As far as communication with other equipment, i found if you turn off "cec" on the other devices, it should alleviate your issue. Good luck. This info is from my Denon AVR: CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) also called HDMI Control, is a feature on most AVRs that allows for one button control of supported system functions. This feature may also be available on other CEC supported devices such as TVs or projectors. CEC can control power on/off functions, volume control and source switching by sending a command over the connected HDMI cables.

QuestionIs this the best tv for bright rooms?

- Answer I couldn't say "best" but this TV has made a huge difference over my previous one in the brightness category. I had trouble seeing just about anything in midday in my apartment, but the new Hisense makes that problem a minor one-- if a problem at all.

QuestionOn my TV, the color red jitters and vibrates on the screen. I've tried adjusting the color but it still does it. Is this a settings/calibration issue or is the TV defective??

QuestionDoes the tv have clear picture when viewed at an angle or is it better viewed straight on

- Answer It has clear picture when viewed at an angle but does lighten a little if you get more than 90 degrees off center. But overall it’s a fantastic tv and competes with oled panels which for the price is amazing.

QuestionCan you use an Amazon Fire Stick with this TV, even though it’s Google? Apparently the cable company I am joining says they give you an amazon fire stick. Want to be sure it works with this TV. Thanks

- Answer Yes you can. I have done so via direct input of my Fire Stick 4K to the TV or via inputting the Firestick 4K into my Denon AVR-X4300H and it works superbly!

QuestionIf you are running Spectrum or low content do not expect a very good picture. If anyone has advice how to watch Spectrum or low content and get a better picture, please I would love to know what settings to change.

- Answer I would suggest you Check out FOMO's settings on YouTube. I use Dish and I think the picture looks fine, but of course, it's a subjective thing as to what one person finds acceptable and another might not. I'm very happy with the picture quality and it's one of the better TVs at making low-quality signals look better. So if you can't make this one look good enough for you good luck finding a TV that will.

QuestionDo they ever stop harassing you after the purchase? The software issues alone are criminal. The software was fixed a bit over 2024 to reveal the latest issue of it requiring a physical unplugging every 12 hours.Any solutions?

QuestionMy 66" Hisense U8 is in a very very bright sun room. What would be the best setting for high Sun 🔆 glare? The reason I bought this model was because of its 1500 NIT but I'm not impressed. Please help he resolve this issue.
