Please try again later.If your old stereo doesn't have an HMDI port, that would put your receiver at over 20 yrs old and I'm sorry to say, that while it may still work, its simply time to retire it. I just retired my receiver that I bought around '06, 15 yrs using HDMI1 was a good run :) Basically you have two options though: 1) Retire that old receiver and buy a sound bar with subwoofer and extension speakers. You can easily get a very good setup for under $200 (I love my VIZIO V-Series 5.1 Home Theater Sound Bar). 2) You could always buy a RCA to HDMI converter.
