Q: QuestionHisense website says it is Full array and Best Buy says backlit which is it?
Asked by gman.
- A:Answer I believe backlit simply describes the LED's being directly begins the tv as opposed to edge lit. Now backlit tv's have 2 versions.... direct lit and full array. Direct lit has LED's directly behind the screen and so does full array the difference being full array has zones of LED's that can be turned on and off independently....producing better blacks in dark parts and brighter whites in bright parts. Direct lit can't independently turn on and off the LED's therefore having more grey instead of black and reducing contrast and picture quality. To answer your question this tv is both backlit and full array.

Q: QuestionCan you disable the tv and remote mic I don't like that feature ? Thank you.
Asked by psfive.
- A:Answer I just figured out how to disable the mic without using the hardware switch after my streaming services stopped every time a commercial said "Hey Google" and it responded. Go into menu > settings > apps > app permissions > microphone > show system apps, then turn the microphone permission off for Google and Google Play Services. You likely only need to turn one of them off, but I killed them all together. There will be a few system apps that you can't change, but they don't seem to matter. No more constant listening in, no nag messages, no streaming interruptions, and no stupid bright lights from turning the hardware switch off. For the remote, I simply don't press the mic button. I tried the Hisense method listed above, but it required me to setup Google Assistant before I could turn it off. My suggestion to Hisense would be to let the led's time out when turning the hardware switch off.

Q: QuestionHello I have been with VIZIO since 2012, HISENSE U8G I was wondering if you fully back your product for the entire first year, if you get a bad panel or something will you fix or replace the TV? This would be my first HISENSE TV. LK 2 BACK NEW COMPANY
Asked by kennyg.
- A:Answer they definitely back their product. my tv was shipped with a bad ARC port. they had the only remaining Hisense tech in my area come out with a new board. had me up and running in about 30min. from the time i discovered i had true bad arc port to shipping a board and installation was about 2 weeks. i called and talked to Hisense and they opened me up a trouble ticket and i got notifications of the status. keep in mind Hisense, Toshiba and Sharp are all under the same umbrella, so they arent a fly by night company which gave me conformt when i first called to report my issue. luckily i bought the Geeksquad warranty as a back up plan anyway but didnt have to call Best Buy as Hisense resolved it directly.

Q: QuestionThe power cord included is incredibly short, are there any suggestions on a replacement? If not what is the cord rated to in volts and amps?
Asked by phil.
- A:Answer I haven't looked into this yet, but I agree that the cord is way too short. The label on the back of the tv shows it is rated for 300 watts at 120 volt. That converts to 2.5 amps. I would look for that at bare minimum in a new cord, but ideally something higher just for an extra margin of safety. No idea if something like that exists.
