Hello Darlene, thank you for your interest in the Hisense 70A6G. The TV automatically shows the best resolution based on the source of the image. Unfortunately, the signal from these channels may not be strong enough to support a 1080p resolution; you may be able to get a long-range antenna or signal booster to help.
