“Can somebody post their recommended settings for the 75U7G? Some of the reviews here say that it really needs adjusting from what you get right out of the box. TIA”

I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of YouTube videos before deciding to take the plunge. I was expecting to have a hard time with calibration after what I read and heard. I think maybe I won the panel lottery because mine was pretty awesome straight out of the box, I really just turned the colour up slightly for my personal taste. Now is the best time to buy because they just released an 100 day love it or return it guarantee, so any trouble and you can return. Yes a LG C1 is better. Yes a Samsung q90 is better but this tv doesn't cost over 3 grand and neither is $2k better. Take the plunge, hisense will take it back if you're not happy.

It was pretty good out of the box so I did not see a dramatic change. I have been VERY happy with it.
