Can I change the resolution within the tv itself? null

I currently own this TV. You can not change the resolution to 1080p or anything else. You can not change the Apect Ratio either. It is constant "Wide" with no other options. If you do not wish to see makeup on mens faces/craters, this TV is not for you. I strongly urge anyone to visit Best Buy while using the remote yourself to be certain of what features any television has or lacks. For the $700 I paid, I am satisfied.
