QuestionWhat is the eer on these two models? and other questionsI'm looking to purchase either the 10000 or 12000 BTU Honeywell Portable Air Conditioners that are for sale through Best Buy.com: Model Model: MN10CESWW or Honeywell - 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner - Black/Silver Model: MN12CES Can you tell me what the EER is on each of these units? Also, will they plug into a normal household plug without overload? I see that they are 120 volts but I don't understand if that means they need a special dedicated plug or not. The room I'm trying to cool is about 600 square feet but I'm only trying to lower the temp a few degrees. Rather than trying to keep the entire house cool enough for my comfort during the night, I thought a portable air conditioner for that one room would be a good idea. I have an all house air-conditioner, but my bedroom is at the opposite end of the house and is typically 5 - 7 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. For this purpose, is the 10000 BTU unit large enough to work well? Or should I get the 12000 BTU unit? Thank you for your help. Jan

- Answer PLEASE, GET THE 12,000 BTU. IT WILL BE MORE EFFECTIVE. I HAD BOTH AND PREFER THE 12,000!

QuestionHow you you mount hose in a window that is not pull up/down? My windows unlock and you pull from top which exposes the entire window. My window size is approximately 35" wide x 34 3/4" high.

- Answer Hello ! The window venting kit that comes with the unit measures 20 inches and is extendable to 47 inches. The window bracket can be installed both vertically as well as horizontally. QuestionI've had my Honeywell for about 5 years. I vent outside, regularly release water from both the upper and lower drains and clean filter. I'm noticing now that the AC is making a dripping sound, but see no evidence of any water on the floor.

QuestionHello, I have two ?s, how much energy does this air conditioner uses per year, hour ect. and does the bottom plug need to be removed for air conditioning mode? Thank you.

- Answer I don't yet know energy usage. It is my understanding that the plug will only have to be removed if on dehumidify mode only. After using the air conditioner mode, I run just the fan for about an hour to evaporate any moisture.

QuestionI purchased this yesterday, followed all of the instructions, allowed it to stay up right for nearly 13 hours before installing it, and it just won’t get cold. It is on the cooling mode too but it’s just a fan blowing air around. Help!

- Answer Look at your display. Make sure it is,the snowflake symbol that is,lit up. I made that mistake myself. Also check to make sure,the vent is,going to the outside properly.

- Answer Hi Brandy, if you are using the unit only on the dehumidifier setting, then do not connect the exhaust hose. Continuous drainage is then necessary for the unit. QuestionHow is the vent panel fixed to the window? What hardware is used if any?

- Answer The vent panel is sized to fit the width of the inside of the window frame. The window is them lowered and holds it into place. I use a cut board the length of the distance from the top of the bottom window to the underside top of the top window after the vent is in place. This will keep the vent in place and helps to deter anyone from just lifting the bottom window to allow easy entry into the house.
