Hello Mansi !This portable air conditioner needs to be installed with an exhaust hose connected to the window venting bracket (all provided with the unit), for the hot air to be let out. But it does need to be setup so the exhaust hose (hot air) can blow out away from the area you are wanting to cool. We have this in setup in a playhouse for the kids to keep cool while outside. We used the hose it came with along with a dryer vent and a reducer to fit the hose size difference between the hose and the vent. If you don’t have the hose hooked up to vent outside then the hot air would continue to circulate in the room you are trying to cool. We love this unit and it’s exactly what we needed for our 160sqft space.
