HI Marc, There is no vent or hose vent required. Unlike an air conditioner, no compressor or refrigerant gas is used to cool the air like an air conditioner. Evaporative coolers use the natural process of Evaporation to cool. All that is required is to add water to the tank. It is recommended to keep windows/ door open for adequate circulation of the moist air that is produced from the air cooler. Please note that air coolers cool best in warm, dry locations as the temperature drop is higher with drier air.
