Does this unit really not require drainage? null

That is correct, it has an auto evaporation system so that it can run for extended periods of time with no water to drain.

It comes with a window kit (plastic frame & flexible hose)that you put in the window. No bucket to empty.

IT WILL REQUIRE DRAINAGE AFTER IT COLLECTS ABOUT 9 PINTS OF WATER. UNIT WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN IT NEEDS IT, FAIRLY SIMPLE PLUG SYSTEM.

In AC mode it does not require drainage. I've been running mine for a month in the Alabama summer heat, and no drainage issues whatsoever.
