- Answer I have not plugged it into a surge protector because I figured there was a reason for that warning. I have tried an extension cord with no problem, but it depends on your comfort level with that as an option...

Questiondoes this fan have a stirty base so everytime you move it you don't have to keep tightening the base that's annoying the lasko is terrible the base is soooo flimsy
