That said... if you think you smell OZONE whenever the 5300B is in operation, your unit might have a fan motor problem. The motor in the 5300B uses AC BRUSH technology. Bad/excessively worn motor brushes can produce micro sparks w/ every revolution & electrical sparking can produce ozone (albeit in much lower quanties than "ionizing" air purifiers). Contact Honeywell/Helen of Troy for warranty support if you think you smell ozone.
