Thank you for your inquiry. Both of these units use the same number of R and A filters. However, the HPA5300 covers 500 square feet rather than 465 square feet that the HPA300 does. Its cleaning rates are also similarly higher. Additionally, the HPA5300 has an Automatic cleaning mode that can detect VOCs in the air and alter the unit's performance to clean them from the air faster.
