Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not when new. I have noticed that heaters that are idle for long periods (months) may smell a bit when first turned on. This is the stuff that accumulates on all surfaces over time and is evaporating off. I haven't had this heater long enough to see if this happens, but I've noticed it on all other heaters including car heaters.
