Lauren, This is the 2nd unit I have purchased. The 1st one burned out for some reason - probably because I turned it on and never turned it off. I have a decent size room and leave it on high and at 80 degrees (anemic) so I love the warmth. It's not uncomfortable heat and I leave my bedroom door open and it still does the job. Now as far as the heater removing the humidity out the room and making it dry - that is not the case for my home. I had it winterized back in 2010 so I really couldn't answer that question. I can tell you the air in my room or house for that matter is not dry at all. The only time I turn this thing off if it's in the summer or I leave the house (safety). You will be satisfied with the purchase.
