Yes, I have a golden retriever and it picks up dog hair like crazy. I'm always amazed at how much dog hair is in the cup after each use and I vacuum probably every 2-3 days. It does better on hard floors (woods, tile, etc.). Also does great on low profile carpets and rugs. I like that it has two modes, one with the brush rolling and one without. I run it without the brush rolling when I do the hardwoods and tile areas, which means I don't have to pull the dog hair out of the brush nearly as often as I did with our last stick vac (which always ran with the brush rolling).
