• Less noisy than our old Royal. Of course, it is a vacuum cleaner, and somewhat noisy. The canister is also not overly noisy. If it was quiet, I would suspect it was not very powerful.

• monkeydog-Fairly quiet. WAY more quiet that my old clunker vacum!

• It's fairly loud but not at a level that bothers me. It is a vacuum after all! There are two suction settings and one is quieter than the other.
