Yes. The button on top of the hand-held unit can be pressed, and the clear piece pops off. I had dog hair get stuck on the bristles and some stuck inside the clear plastic part, when I cleaned a spot on our steps, but I just popped it off, and removed the hair, and snapped it back on again. To clean it, it was super easy.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If I am understanding correctly, it is a pretty easy cleanup,. There really is nowhere for the hair to get caught. You can rinse the hose thru by running water thru it.

You can rinse the tool under the faucet by removing the nozzle cover by pressing the release button. You can also remove the three screws on the bottom of the carpet cleaner to access the hose to remove for cleaning.
