• It's certainly on the heavier side when compared to something like the Shark. Not something I look forward to using while vacuuming the stairs, but with the larger head and sturdy construction, I was finding myself getting the living room done faster than with a smaller vac. Hope this helps!

• I would classify this as a medium weight vacuum. There are certainly lighter ones out there, as well as heavier ones. It was much easier to carry up and down the stairs than our old Hoover, but not as light as our Oreck. Based on what I have found online, it is about 16 pounds.
